World Record of Double Century in Domestic Cricket

World Record of Double Century in Domestic Cricket. Muhammad Amir Finds Rhythm in Canberra. He made the record in T20 match against Australia in the last over of first inning in which 5 batsmen were gone back to dressing room. Two of them were run out while the bowler got three important wickets in the over to restrict Aussies below 200 runs.

The Aussies were playing domestic cricket very good in the pool match of ICC World T20 and they were about to cross 200 runs against green shirts but Muhammad Amir did not let that happen and bowled a brilliant last over. Although two of the batsmen were run out but still it was record of getting five wickets in an over. The commentators praised the effort of left arm bowler.

From the beginning Australia showed domestic cricket aggressiveness in the match because in the previous two encounters in the mega event they lost twice. Green shirts outclassed them in ICC World T20 of 2007 and 2009 and they wanted to win it at any cost. So Aussies openers attacked the bowlers from very first over and they put a huge total on board which seemed almost impossible to chase.

After good start Aussies batsmen tried very hard to cross 200 runs in 20 overs and they were quite confident to achieve it but Muhammad Amir became wall for them. His brilliance in bowling restricted Australia under 200 runs and they lost five wickets in the last over of the inning. Five wickets on six balls, it never happened in the history of cricket until this match was played.

Left arm bowler Muhammad Amir did his job in domestic cricket  but unfortunately the target was too much for the batsmen of green shirts and they could not win important T20 match against Australia. The margin of defeat was huge as compare to previous matches in ICC World T20.
