Sydney Cricket Ground Witnesses Brilliance of Abdul Razzaq

In the summers of 2000 Sydney Cricket Ground witnessed the brilliance of Abdul Razzaq against Australia when he smashed five consecutive boundaries to Glenn MacGrath, the premier Aussie fast bowler. In the whole season, Aussies were taken quite seriously on the field while bowling and all-rounder started the tone from the beginning.

Abdul Razzaq took full advantage of batting pitch of Sydney Cricket Ground because he was promoted up the order. He challenged all Aussie bowlers while batting and all of them were clueless against him as he was batting superbly. The green shirts had to chase huge total of 287 runs while their opening batmen were back in the pavilion very early.

The all-rounder took the charge after coming on crease and elevated the run rate of the team. He played mind blowing shots all over the park and he loved batting in that particular pitch. The ball was coming on the bat nicely and the batsman just had to find the cap for boundary. The green shirt batsmen took the advantage of field restriction as well.

After five overs of spell Steve Waugh, captain of Australia change the bowler but the result was the same. Abdul Razzaq did not stop after hitting five consecutive boundaries. Unfortunately his brilliance inning went in vain because other batsmen could not capitalized the platform at all. They threw their wickets without competing and ultimately lost the match.

After the wicket of all-rounder Abdul Razzaq Aussie bowlers did not let any batsman to play freely and they bowled on right channel. Stuart MacGill bowled quite superbly in the match and took the important wicket of all-rounder which turned around the game in favor of Australia. The Aussie won the match with big margin even the all-rounder played a mind blowing inning at Sydney Cricket Ground.
