The top order and middle order batsmen collapsed during run chase and all of them played quite poor shots. The New Zealand bowlers did not put much effort to get the wickets due to lack of discipline and planning from the part of green shirts. The victory was so near for Kiwi team when left arm bowler stood as the last wall for them and created history.

Muhammad Amir knew batting as well as the pitch condition of Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium. So stood their and played several aggressive shots all around the park. He hit three brilliant sixes to well known Kiwi spinner Daniel Vettori as well. The victory was so near for green shirts when his partner showed impatience and played a rash shot which ended in form of loss.

Muhammad Amir was playing and striking the ball quite well and there was no point for Saeed Ajmal to play a rash shot like that. Amir could have been played the winning shot for the team if off spinner had rotated the strike. However the damage was done and all the hard work was ruined by Ajmal.
