Abdul Razzaq Smashes Glenn MacGrath in ODI Match

All-rounder Abdul Razzaq smashed Glenn MacGrath in an ODI match in the summer of 2000. The batsman hit five consecutive boundaries on five balls to premier Australian fast bowler. The bowler had no clue where to ball him and how to stop him striking boundaries. He took suggestion from Aussie skipper Steve Waugh but it did not work at all.

Abdul Razzaq was promoted up the order as the green shirts had to chase big target of 287 runs in 50 overs. The opening batsmen were out very earlier in the inning and the required run rate was climbing up. The all-rounder decided to target the premier fast bowler of Australia and he played marvelous strokes all around the park.

In the first inning Aussie batsmen put a massive total on board and all the efforts of Pakistani bowlers went in vain. Consequently the batsmen had to deliver while chasing huge target but the start of the inning was not good at all. The skipper Wasim Akram promoted the all-rounder at one down position and he started to smash every Aussie bowler out of the park.

The five consecutive boundaries on five balls to Glenn MacGrath were the feature of the ODI match although green shirts lost the match due to bad planning. He completed his fifty on just few balls and set the tone for rest of the batsmen. Abdul Razzaq counter attack stunned the Aussie cricket team while the commentators enjoyed it a lot.

Glenn MacGrath went for plenty of runs in first five overs of his spell and he conceded over 50 runs in his first spell. It was the first time when any batsman took the Aussie bowlers and smashed them out of the park quite easily. Abdul Razzaq played a marvelous inning but unfortunately other batsmen could not finish the job to win the match.
